Restructuring and turnarounds

When cash gets tight, act early.

A hard stretch is stressful, and it is often fixable. The owners with the most options are the ones who call before the lender does. We’ll help you see where you stand and what to do this week.

Working with your attorney

We handle the numbers, the plan, and lender communication. Your attorney handles legal advice, including any bankruptcy filing. If you don’t have one, we can introduce you to attorneys who do this work.

Common questions

When should I call?

When your cash forecast shows a payroll or vendor payment you cannot cover, when you expect to miss a loan covenant, or when your lender starts asking for more reporting. The earlier we start, the more options you keep.

Do you replace my attorney?

No. Legal questions, including any bankruptcy filing, stay with your attorney. We bring the cash forecast, the numbers your lender needs, and the operating plan, and we coordinate with your attorney and CPA.

Will you talk to my lender?

Yes, with your permission. We prepare factual updates and forecasts labeled as estimates, and we recommend your attorney review lender correspondence before it goes out.

What is a 13-week cash forecast?

A week-by-week view of the cash coming in and going out over the next quarter. It shows a shortfall weeks before it happens. Our contractor cash forecast article shows how one is built.

I signed a personal guarantee. What happens to me?

We map what each option would mean for your guarantee so you can see it before you decide. What you owe under the guarantee is a legal question for your attorney, and any tax effect of forgiven debt is a question for your CPA.
